Welcome to the registration page for the 2nd Annual Sharon Chalk Art Festival! Join us at Sharon Town Hall on Sunday May 18, 2025, from 10am to 1pm for a day filled with creativity and community spirit. Registration guarantees a space; walk-on participants are welcome on the day of the event, subject to availability.

Description: 
The Sharon Chalk Art Festival is a celebration of creativity where participants of all ages can showcase their artistic talents by creating chalk masterpieces on the pavement. 
Date: May 18, 2025
Time: 10:00 am - 1:00 pm (9am+ setup for participants begins)
Awards Ceremony: 12:45pm
Location: Sharon Town Hall Parking Lot, 90 South Main Street, Sharon MA
Open to: All Ages; Residents and Non-Residents of Sharon; Artists and Non-Artists.

Registration:
 Open call for participants to sign up for spots through the Register link above (subject to availability)
Cost: Free to participate.
Spaces: Each participating individual or group will be allocated a parking spot to serve as their designated space for creating art. These spots are approximately 20 feet long by 9 feet wide. Participants will have the opportunity to begin creating their artwork as early as 9am on the morning of the event. We can accommodate requests for participants to start the previous day if additional time is needed, subject to approval on a case-by-case basis.
Chalk: A variety of colors will be provided in sidewalk chalk and pastel chalk, and participants are also welcome to bring their own supplies. Water will be available to support your creative process.  
Groups: Groups of people can work together on their creations. One person can sign up on behalf of a group of people; put in names of additional people when signing up.
Age Requirement: All ages are welcome to join. Participants under 12 must have at least one adult accompanying them during the event.
Prizes: Winners will be selected by a panel of jurors from the Sharon Cultural Council. Thanks to the generous support of our many sponsors this year, prize amounts will be significantly increased and awarded in the form of debit gift cards and/or gift cards to local businesses. Whether you’re a seasoned artist or trying chalk art for the first time, there’s a chance to be recognized and celebrated.

  • Use of Color
    Celebrating bold and beautiful color work, this award recognizes the artist who made their design pop with vibrant, eye-catching hues.

    Given to the artist whose piece brings joy, energy, and positivity to the event, capturing the heart and spirit of the festival.
  • Storyteller Award
    This award goes to the artist who tells a story through their art, whether it's heartfelt, humorous, or thought-provoking.
  • Nature’s Favorite
    A tribute to the natural world, this award honors artwork that beautifully celebrates animals, landscapes, or our planet.
  • About Sharon
    Awarded to the piece that best reflects what makes Sharon special - its community, places, or spirit of togetherness.
  • Honorable Mentions
    Recognizing artistic effort, creativity, or originality that stood out, these deserve acknowledgment.  

Parking: Parking is available along Bradford Avenue and in other nearby public areas. We kindly ask participants to park a bit farther from the event space to help leave closer spots for spectators. You're welcome to pull up near Town Hall to drop off any supplies before finding parking.
Weather Contingency: Event is subject to cancellation due to rain or inclement weather. Please check our website or social media channels for updates.
Public Viewing: All members of the public are welcome to come and watch the artists at work, enjoy food from the food trucks, and have a picnic on the town hall lawn.

Recommended Things to Bring for Participants:
Sunblock, hat, handheld umbrellas, and drinking water
Knee pads, gardening pads, cardboard, towel, or camp chair for comfort
Paint brushes, cups, and spray bottles for blending chalk with water
Chalkboard erasers, pool noodles, and carpet squares for blending dry chalk
Yard stick, measuring tape, and chalk line if using a grid to create your art
Duct tape or painters tape to mark out your space
Wet wipes, nitrile gloves, and finger cots to keep hands clean
Small containers or buckets to hold chalk or water
Reference photos to use while making your art
Extra chalk if using a predominant color in your art
Snacks or money to visit food vendors
