SCIENCE CLUB: MISSION TO MARS (Grades Pre-K through 1st)

Embark on a thrilling journey beyond Earth’s atmosphere in our "Mission to
Mars" class designed for young space enthusiasts! Through engaging activities,
hands-on experiments, and captivating discussions, participants will delve into
the wonders of our solar system, galaxies far beyond, and the mysteries of outer
space.

Course Objectives:

Discover Our Solar System: Explore the planets, moons, and asteroids that
make up our solar neighborhood.

Learn About Space Exploration: Understand the history of space
exploration, from the first satellites to the latest Mars missions.
Stellar Phenomena: Investigate stars, galaxies, black holes, and other
celestial objects that populate the universe.

Hands-on Activities: Engage in experiments and projects to simulate
conditions in space, such as creating craters, building rockets, and more.

Inspire Curiosity: Foster a sense of wonder and curiosity about the cosmos
through storytelling, videos, and interactive discussions.

SCIENTISTS IN TRAINING (Grades 6-8)

Welcome to the Scientist in Training course (SIT), where aspiring young leaders will cultivate their passion for science while developing essential teaching and leadership skills. This dynamic program empowers teens to inspire and educate others through interactive learning experiences and hands-on activities. Students will have a learning dinner (provided) each week, where they build upon their skills, plan and reflect upon their experiences.

Course Objectives:

Effective Teaching Techniques: Learn and practice effective teaching
methodologies, including lesson planning, presentation skills, and engaging
teaching strategies.

Leadership Development: Develop leadership qualities such as
communication, teamwork, problem-solving, and decision-making within
the context of science education.

Mentorship and Guidance: Gain insights into mentorship principles and
techniques for guiding younger students or peers in scientific learning.

Personal Growth: Reflect on personal strengths and areas for development,
fostering self-awareness and confidence as future leaders in science
education.
