10:00 AM - 12:00 PM    MYC Racing - MYC Racing: Summer 2026
This class is designed for kids who have mastered the basics of boat-handling and are looking for a further challenge, we are offering a learn-to-race program. Offered in conjunction with the Massapoag Yacht Club, this class will introduce students to the rules used in the sailboat racing world wide. The program will begin with an on shore session that will teach the fundamental knowledge needed to get around the race course including; the shape of the course, what the starting bells mean, and basic right-of-way rules. The rest of the program will be on the water races where students will put their knowledge to the test. After each day of racing, there will be a cookout with directed discussions about the races with the emphasis on learning from mistakes to become a better and smarter sailor.Students need to have the basic boat-handling skills mastered: tack, gybe, and right the boat after flipping, STUDENTS MUST also need to be able to control their boats well enough to get around the buoys, which involves putting together all of the above skills. TWO PLUS years of sunfish or equivalent sailing experience required.

Most class days include a take-home project.Interactive Coding for Kids (Grades 2-4)In this hands-on class, students explore Scratch programming, using the MIT-developed programming interface to craft stories and games. Then we will use Makey Makey boards to invent new ways to interact with the Scratch projects using everyday objects. 10:00 AM - 12:00 PM    MYC Racing - MYC Racing: Summer 2026
This class is designed for kids who have mastered the basics of boat-handling and are looking for a further challenge, we are offering a learn-to-race program. Offered in conjunction with the Massapoag Yacht Club, this class will introduce students to the rules used in the sailboat racing world wide. The program will begin with an on shore session that will teach the fundamental knowledge needed to get around the race course including; the shape of the course, what the starting bells mean, and basic right-of-way rules. The rest of the program will be on the water races where students will put their knowledge to the test. After each day of racing, there will be a cookout with directed discussions about the races with the emphasis on learning from mistakes to become a better and smarter sailor.Students need to have the basic boat-handling skills mastered: tack, gybe, and right the boat after flipping, STUDENTS MUST also need to be able to control their boats well enough to get around the buoys, which involves putting together all of the above skills. TWO PLUS years of sunfish or equivalent sailing experience required.
